Neon Rain

Umbrella tilted, collar high
Tokyo drips beneath the sky
Pavement mirrors ruby light
Raindrops dancing out of sight

The rain writes stories on the pane
Nothing in this night’s the same

Clear umbrellas, faces fade
The rain rewrites the roles we played
Crosswalks glow in silent blues
The city paints its mood anew

The rain writes stories on the pane
Nothing in this night’s the same

Neon rain, wash over me
Rinse the city from my skin
Colors bloom and shadows flee
Let me breathe the world back in
Just for a while
I finally feel alive

Billboards blur in technicolor
Lonely hearts pass one another
Nightclubs thump behind closed glass
While businessmen in silence pass

The rain writes stories on the pane
Nothing in this night’s the same

Neon rain, wash over me
Rinse the city from my skin
Colors bloom and shadows flee
Let me breathe the world back in
Just for a while
I finally feel alive

Neon rain, wash over me
Rinse the city from my skin
Colors bloom and shadows flee
Let me breathe the world back in
Just for a while
I finally feel alive
