Midnight Gloss

Your hand fits mine but nothing stays
Just lipstick stains and velvet haze
We move like lovers in disguise
But there’s no truth behind our eyes

I laugh, I smile, I play along
But every touch feels slightly wrong
This game of warmth in borrowed skin
Leaves me colder than I’ve ever been

It’s just midnight gloss
A shine that fades with dawn
We’re close but lost
Pretending love goes on
I crave a soul, not just a kiss
But all we share is emptiness

We dance, we spin, our shadows blend
But never really touch or end
We’re bodies brushing through the dark
Without a flame to ever spark

It’s just midnight gloss
A shine that fades with dawn
We’re close but lost
Pretending love goes on
I crave a soul, not just a kiss
But all we share is emptiness

It’s just midnight gloss
A shine that fades with dawn
We’re close but lost
Pretending love goes on
I crave a soul, not just a kiss
But all we share is emptiness

It’s just midnight gloss
A shine that fades with dawn
We’re close but lost
Pretending love goes on
